Painting Little Treasures - Miniature Quartets in Gouache, Watercolor, and Ink

Painting Little Treasures - Miniature Quartets in Gouache, watercolor, and Ink

with Miriam Hughes

May 14th (10 AM-3 PM ET) 2022

Saturday, May 14 - 10 am to 3 pm - $145 all materials included and a frame for your favorite piece!

Working small does not have to be tedious or overly detailed. Creating a series or a theme and working small is a rewarding way to explore new mediums. Either working in one medium alone or mixing the water-based mediums available, we will create small treasures from 1” – 4” square. Learn how to create a powerful composition in a tiny space and leave with frameable artwork. One frame per participant is included in the fee. The frames are all 5” square with a 3.75”” open space for the image.

This workshop explores the value of creating a series of small paintings which tells a story (the seasons, blossoming of a flower, etc.) or be abstract with a continuous link between each piece. Let your imagination unfold as we create petit quartets.

Series work can lead to fascinating subject explorations!

The class fee includes watercolor paints, brushes, paper and other supplies but please feel free to bring other similar supplies that you would like to try out. More frames can be purchased in class or ordered on line.

We care about your safety! Please see our safety procedures below.

SAFETY PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS

Due to new CDC recommendations and our concern for everyone’s health and safety, we have new polices in place at this time.

All Participants must be vaccinated.

For the time being, we are resuming the wearing of masks both in the classroom and in the gallery. Please ensure that your mask is well-fitting and comfortable.

Please observe safe distancing at all times when in the classroom, in the gallery, arriving, departing and cleaning up in the sink area.

To ensure we do not exceed the number of people allowed in the classroom, arrive on time (not early) and depart on time when class is over.

Make sure you clean your table after class so things are sanitized for the next person. Cleaning products will be provided.

If you bring a meal to eat during the day, please do so outside on our loading dock (while observing social distancing), or in your car. We have removed our fridge, microwave, and water fountain so we suggest you bring a suitable lunch and your own water bottle. Personal water bottles may be used in the classroom, but must have a straw so that masks will not need to be removed.
